Changelog
How updates reach you
Section titled “How updates reach you”Pulse updates itself through Atlassian Forge. There is nothing to download or install.
- Minor updates, fixes and improvements that need no new permission, reach your site by themselves.
- A major update asks for new permissions. Pulse rolls it out so that your site gets the new version at once and keeps working; only the parts that need the new permissions wait until a site admin approves them in Atlassian Administration, under Connected apps.
Current release: version 7.
Version 7: Pulse, redrawn
Section titled “Version 7: Pulse, redrawn”October 2026 · the three changes Pulse can make need an admin’s approval
Pulse moves from a dashboard you visit to help where the work happens: in the editor while a page is written, on the page while it is read, and in a short list for every person.
- A coach in the editor. One line above the page shows the score after you publish, the next step with its points, and a heartbeat with the next check of your draft. Make the change and the line confirms it a few seconds later. Open it for the whole list. Once the page is Healthy with nothing left to fix, Pulse stops asking. Live docs get one number. Details
- A receipt after you publish, with the score before and after and what changed.
- Page vitals, from Page Health under every page title or Fix with Pulse in the page
menu (
alt+shift+f): both scores part by part, what to do next, the review date, readers and similar pages. Details - Still correct and review dates. Confirm that a page is right as it is; every page gets a review date from its space’s review interval.
- Three changes made as you, after you confirm them: Apply a fix (replace a placeholder, or
remove links to pages in the trash, with an undo for 10 minutes), the label
needs-review, and a comment that mentions the page owner. Details - Help for readers. One line when a page may mislead, with a way out; This looks wrong sends the owner a note without the reader’s name; the owner and last editor get an invitation to fix the page and a review check. Details
- For you on the Pulse page (
alt+shift+p) and a section on Confluence Home: the pages you own or edited last that need you, with one reason and one action each, and runs of three pages. Details - A space report in every space, with the pages to fix first, causes, every page and whether the space is ready for an AI agent. Details
- Site and Clean up: your whole Confluence as you can see it, and the pages that cover the same topic or could be archived. Details
- Get started for admins, with what authors will see and the first read of the site. Pulse reads the site by itself; nobody has to start a scan.
- Pulse settings: the site policy, coach defaults and the review interval. Space settings for space admins: a review interval per space, and on Advanced a policy per space.
- The Pulse macro, with the page’s verification inside the page. Details
- The similar meaning check (Advanced) while you write and in Clean up, on Atlassian’s Forge LLMs, sending titles only.
Changed
Section titled “Changed”- Every number is counted for the person looking at it, over the pages that person can open. There is no site total over pages someone cannot see, for anyone, an admin included.
- Links are checked as you. A link that does not open for you costs points on your view of the page, and only a link Confluence shows you in the trash is called deleted. Details
- Content policies have seven rules with targets and weights from 0 to 30, and show their effect before you save. Details
Removed
Section titled “Removed”- The Pulse dashboard, with its site averages, its tabs and its settings window. For you, the space report, Site and Pulse settings take its place.
- Scan trends. The scan history is no longer shown. Site shows the pages that entered and left Healthy each week, once Pulse’s weekly check has run.
Permissions
Section titled “Permissions”This release asks for five new permissions. Four allow the three changes above:
write:page:confluence, write:label:confluence, read:label:confluence and
write:comment:confluence. The fifth, read:content.metadata:confluence, is requested in advance
for a planned feature and is not used by this version. Until a site admin approves them, Pulse runs
the new version with the three changes locked. See Install.
Privacy
Section titled “Privacy”Pulse keeps its data in your site’s Forge database, in your site’s location. It stores people as keyed hashes, never names; names are looked up by each person’s own browser. Its analytics carry your site’s id and fixed values only. See the privacy policy.
